There are many dog obedience schools today that promise to train your dog the ways that you have always dreamt off. One thing that many people don’t realize is that they don’t need to seek any training school as they can easily do this at their home.

Home dog training can always be done and there is no need of any of the dog training schools. With just a few proper techniques you can train a dog at home. Before you could proceed with the dog obedience training, you need to drive out all the myths about it. I have compiled a list of myths that you MUST drive out of your mind.

I have made a list of few such myths that requires your attention and a different perspective. Training schools may have strict and rigid rules that sometimes may not be good for your dog or his training experience. Below is a list of few such things:

* Discipline is the key to obedient dog: By following a disciplined routine for dog training you will get a dog that will obey you. Do you ever realize that this dog is not doing anything happily but just out of fear? Too much discipline will make your dog dull and in habit of living in fear always.

* Obedience training is done better when treats are involved. Treat of course is good as a reward, but when trainings are concerned they can prove to be a hurdle.

* Discipline is required to train the dog: Discipline would surely give you a trained dog but this dog would live his life in fear. Don’t think that the dog will do whatever you say happily if it’s been trained in a much disciplined schedules. Dog will only obey you due to the fear.
